Mr Low Peng Kit is a long-time grassroots leader with over 45 years of extensive involvement in community service and a pioneer mediator in Singapore with more than 27 years of mediation experience since 1999. He was appointed as a Master Mediator with the Community Mediation Centre (CMC) and has extensive experience in resolving both corporate and community disputes, including complex and emotionally charged cases. He has consistently demonstrated strong mediation skills, sound judgment and the competence required to guide parties towards meaningful and sustainable resolutions.
Mr Low is a SIMI-Certified Mediator and a Member of the Fujian Maritime Silk Road Financial Mediation Centre, further extending his mediation practice and professional engagement into international and cross-border dispute resolution. His experience includes intercultural mediation involving parties from diverse racial, cultural and linguistic backgrounds. His proficiency in multiple languages has been a valuable asset in facilitating clear communication, building trust and bridging differences between parties.
He was conferred Senior Life Member of the International Institute of Mediators (Singapore) (iiM) and continues to contribute actively to the mediation profession as a course coordinator, trainer, instructor, coach, assessor and mentor. He is a Founding Member of the iiM-Yew Tee Dispute Resolution Centre, established in 2021, and has played an active role in developing iiM's mediation and training services.
Mr Low currently serves as a Director and Council Member of iiM, and is the Chairman of the Mediation Services Sub-Committee. He also contributes to treasury-related duties. He previously served as Honorary Treasurer of iiM for two terms. As an iiM Course Coordinator and coach for the People’s Association 2-Day Grassroots Dispute Mediation Training Programme, he has contributed to the successful training of more than 1,200 Grassroots Mediators.
Mr Low, a Lifetime Member of the Singapore Institute of Directors (MSID), has served as an Independent Director for more than 25 years. He brings extensive board and corporate experience across diverse sectors, including food and beverage, education and training, medical services and healthcare, and construction. He currently serves as Managing Director of Little Red Dot Bakery Pte Ltd, One 69 Pte Ltd, FMC Education Centre Pte Ltd and First Medical Centre Pte Ltd, and also serves on the boards of other companies.
Beyond his professional roles, Mr Low is a passionate and active community leader with more than 45 years of grassroots service. He has contributed to numerous national and community platforms, including the REACH Supervisory Panel under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), School Advisory Committees under the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC), Community Development Council (CDC), CCC Community Development and Welfare Fund Committee (CDWF), PAP Community Foundation Branch Executive Committee (PCF), Community Club Management Committees (CCMCs) and Residents’ Committees (RCs).
He also served for more than 25 years as an adjunct faculty member at the People’s Association’s National Community Leadership Institute (NACLI) and has contributed to organisations including the Town Council, Singapore Chinese Calligraphy Society and Singapore Clan Associations. Mr Low is currently appointed as a Grassroots Mentor (GM) by the People’s Association and is conferred the title of Honorary Chairman of the Yew Tee Citizens’ Consultative Committee (CCC). He also serves as a member of the Yew Tee Community Club Building Fund Committee (CCBFC). He is the President of the Canchan Athletic Association and the Agarwood Association of Singapore.
Since 1992, Mr Low has also served as a licensed solemniser of marriages in Singapore. Over the past 34 years, he has solemnised hundreds of marriages, helping couples and families begin their lifelong journeys together.
